三十。（佛在舍衛，居士飯僧施衣；跋難陀聞，語言施僧者多，今可施我，舉過因制。）戒名。疏云：許僧物者，次己有濫，迴容稱心，喜為故制；佛法之物，無濫義稀，難迴制輕。

Thirty. (The Buddha was in Śrāvastī; a householder fed the Saṃgha and offered robes; Upananda heard of this and said to him, 'Those offering to the Saṃgha are many; now you can offer them to me'; his fault was brought up, and on this occasion the prohibition was enacted.) Name of the precept: The Commentary states: when it comes to property promised to the Saṃgha, there is confusion with one's own, and diverting it to suit one's mind is easily done, hence the prohibition was made; as for property of the Buddha and Dharma, there is no such confusion and it rarely occurs; since it is difficult to divert, the prohibition is minor.
