2.89

輕重中二，初明性戒雙犯。若下，明遮戒單犯，又三，初正明。以下，釋所以。若下，示懺淨，上明懺遮。不下，簡懺性。篇聚雖懺，業道不亡。指《智論》者，如後〈懺篇〉；彼云：十善戒雖懺，三惡道不除等。

Under 'Light and Heavy', there are two: first, it clarifies the dual violation of precepts regarding intrinsically unwholesome acts. From 'If...' onward, it clarifies the singular violation of precepts regarding instituted prohibitions, having three parts: first, it directly clarifies it. From 'Because...' onward, it explains the reason. From 'If...' onward, it shows the purification by deśanā: the upper part clarifies deśanā for instituted prohibitions; from 'Not...' onward, it excludes deśanā for intrinsically unwholesome acts. Although the classes and groups are confessed, the karmic path is not eliminated. Pointing to the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra refers to the subsequent 'Chapter on Confession', where it says: 'Although the precepts of the ten good deeds are confessed, the three evil destinies are not removed', and so on.
