第五。（佛在曠野城，六群與俗人共處宿形露因制；後於拘睒彌開二三宿，重結此戒。）

Fifth [pāyattika]. (When the Buddha was in the city of Āṭavī, the ṣaḍvargikas lodged together with laypeople and exposed their bodies, which occasioned the prohibition; later, in Kauśāmbī, he permitted two or three nights, compounding the precept into this formulation.)
