《僧祇》，初示洗法。僂，力主反，低首也。應下，次明兼洗師鉢法。先師後己者，尊人重法，隨事表心故。串，古患反，穿也。後明洗衣，相因而引。漬，浸也。若下，明用破鉢法。

In the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya*, first it indicates the washing method. *Lóu* (stoop) is read with the fanqie *lì-zhǔ*, meaning to bow the head. From "Should" onward, it next clarifies the method of washing the teacher's bowl along with one's own. Putting the teacher first and oneself second respects the person and honors the Dharma, expressing one's mind according to the circumstance. *Chuàn* (thread through) is read with the fanqie *gǔ-huàn*, meaning to pierce through. Later, washing robes is clarified, cited in connection with this. *Zì* means to soak. From "If" onward clarifies the method of using a broken bowl.
