In the next section, the first two lines show difference from the secular. The meaning explains that receiving offerings must not be without the Dharma. The kāṣāya is the insignia of the three vehicles; hence it is called the "sacred robe." The text from "Having" onwards next explains receiving offerings. The text from "If" onwards thirdly explains accordance with the teaching. The giver has no stinginess and the recipient has no greed; hence it says, "both subject and object are flawless." "Mo" means none. "Compass and plumb line" is a metaphor for the laws and regulations; the character cheng is a phonetic error; the compass is the circular compass, and the plumb line is the ink marker. If the laws and regulations are not practiced, one will be overthrown and perish everywhere; hence it says, "where can one rely?" The text from "Like" onwards concludes with an exhortation. "Well reflecting" is arousing counteraction; "timely requisites" are the four requisites. "Having strength" means the body is at ease; "having no affairs" means having few desires. Because they support and accomplish practice of the Path, they are called "conditions for the Path"; if they merely nourish the body, they are causes of suffering.
