In the second [section], the Mahāsaṃnipāta-sūtra: in contemplating the four requisites, the text lacks decoctions and medicines, which are hidden within food; or food may include the four medicines, separated from rooms and mats, listed sequentially as in the text. This refers to transforming the object with wisdom and returning to subdue wild passions. The tin staff is an implement for begging food, hence it is listed under food. "Ru" also means to gather. In the case of rooms, "composite" means being formed of earth, wood, and so forth. The text from "Nay" onwards refers to bedding. The text from "Making" onwards concludes the above section and indicates the name. "Not delightful" refers to the practice of detachment, which is the cause of liberation. The text from "If" onwards praises the person. "In accord with true reality" means thoroughly understanding that greed and attachment are false; by leaving behind falsehood, one sees the pure mind. Another interpretation: the greedy mind has no self, its nature being fundamentally empty; one also knows it is like an illusion, its characteristics also being empty; one also knows there are no external objects, only consciousness. By means of this contemplation, the noble practice of transcendence is the true and real Dharma.
