In miscellaneous enumerations, the first section: the three matters of the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya*. First, walking in front, in order to guide the procession. 'Music' (*jiyue*) means the instruments of performers; according to the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya* below, it means playing them oneself, not merely holding them in hand. From 'for' onward, secondly, bowing on another's behalf, in order to convey a message. The text permits it for an upādhyāya, and by principle others are entitled to it. (An ancient said: 'It is like conveying a bow in mundane custom, where one first receives the command to bow; based on principle this is not so, one only needs the master's instruction, and an elder is treated analogously.') From 'obtaining' onward, thirdly, clarifies sitting opposite, either for visualization or for meditation and recitation. In the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya*, it first clarifies playing music free of fault, which further resolves the text on carrying and walking in the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya*. Next, it clarifies being employed by laypeople, which is permitted solely for Buddhist transactions.
