次科。僧殘已下者，以犯初篇，失師位故。弟子經理者，謂求僧行法，弟子預數故。亦須敬禮者，謂師乞懺設禮陳詞也。為下二句，明反敬之意。是知弟子在僧，但據僧別強弱，不論師資高下也。行懺既爾，齋講餘事，準義皆同，故注以示之。

The next section. "From saṃghāvaśeṣa downward": because committing an offense of the first section entails the loss of the teacher's position. "The disciple managing affairs" means that when seeking the Saṃgha to execute the procedure, the disciple is included in the count. "Must also make prostrations" means that the master, seeking deśanā, makes prostrations and states his words. The two lines from "For..." downward clarify the intention of the reverse bow. From this we know that when a disciple is within the Saṃgha, it relies solely on the strength or weakness of the Saṃgha versus the individual, regardless of the relative status of master and disciple. Since conducting deśanā is like this, other matters such as fasting and lectures are all the same according to the principle; hence it is pointed out in the note.
