In the sixth [part], first it clarifies receiving bows. In principle there should be no slight or arrogance. "Like dumb sheep": among them are dumb-sheep non-Buddhists who undertake the practice of not speaking. People in the world observe silence, considering it a superior practice; this is a non-Buddhist practice and should be quickly discarded. Words of greeting adapt to the occasion and need not follow this strictly, hence it says "and so forth." From "Together..." downward, it clarifies calling upon others. The name "Wisdom-life" (āyuṣmat) is general and not exclusive to juniors; therefore, even senior elders may be addressed by it, just as in the sūtras there is "the Venerable Subhūti."
