次無法中，初科。綿積，猶言長久。秉，即執也。錯舉，謂每事廢立，皆任意耳。倣斆，謂互習訛風。競心，謂鬪競為懷。力志，即竭力用意。高顯，即副競妙之心。過彼，乃稱勝他之志。

Next, in [the section on] lack of Dharma, the first section: "prolonged accumulation" is like saying a long time. "Grasping" means holding to. "Erroneous initiation" means that in every matter of abolishing or establishing, it is all done according to personal whim. "Imitating and copying" means mutually adopting corrupt customs. "Contentious mind" means harboring a spirit of rivalry. "Striving will" means exhausting strength and using effort. "Lofty and conspicuous" means fulfilling the wondrous mind of competition. "Surpassing that" fulfills the ambition of triumphing over others.
