In the sixth [part]: The Daśādhyāya [prohibits] eating while shaking the hands. The Mahāsāṃghika [prohibits] chewing food with a noise; chazha describes the sound. The Vinaya: "wrinkling the nose" means either wrinkling the nose when eating, or slurping drinks with a sound like wrinkling the nose. The Pañcavargika first [prohibits] eating by grabbing scattered rice with the hand. From "adding" downwards, next it allows speaking while holding food in the mouth. Continuing, it cites the Mahāsāṃghika to show separately the permissions and prohibitions. The Dharmaguptaka allows eating what has fallen. The Samantapāsādikā allows bowl-water to be discarded at a layperson's house, because there are no grains of rice in it.
