次科。《涅槃》誡令重法，八緣不說。非時，謂不當說，如眾學所制；非國，謂不信樂處；自歎，謂稱已所能；隨處，不臨眾昇座等；滅佛法，順己愚情，違反正教故；何下，明不聽所以。今時講說，多墮諸過；非人天師，是惡知識。

The next subheading. The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra admonishes one to esteem the Dharma, and in eight conditions one should not expound it: "improper time" means when one should not expound, such as what is prohibited in the saikṣa rules; "improper country" refers to places where there is no faith or joy [in the Dharma]; "praising oneself" means acclaiming one's own abilities; "any place" means not facing the assembly and not ascending the seat, and so forth; "destroying the Buddhadharma" is because it conforms to one's own foolish sentiments and goes against the correct teaching; under "Why...", it explains the reason for not listening. Nowadays expositions mostly fall into these various faults; such people are not teachers of gods and humans, but bad spiritual companions.
