我如法，和上不知。我不如法，亦不知。若我犯戒，捨不教呵。若犯亦不知。若犯而懺悔，亦不知。（如此懺謝應當軟語。若不受者：和上應捨遠去；依止闍梨應持衣鉢出界，經宿已，明日當還，更依止餘比丘住。）

"When I conform to the Dharma, the upādhyāya does not know. When I do not conform to the Dharma, he also does not know. If I violate a precept, he abandons me and does not teach or rebuke me. If I violate one, he also does not know. If I violate one and repent, he also does not know." (Such a statement of apology should be spoken with gentle words. If it is not accepted: he should abandon the upādhyāya and go far away; with a reliance ācārya, he should take his robes and bowl, leave the boundary, spend the night outside, return the next day, and dwell relying upon another bhikṣu.)
