1.71

大德僧聽！此某甲比丘，今從眾僧乞授人具足戒；僧今與某甲比丘授人具足戒。誰諸長老忍僧與某甲比丘授人具足戒者默然，誰不忍者說。僧已忍聽某甲比丘授人具足戒竟。僧忍，默然故，是事如是持。（依止闍梨，法亦同此。）

"May the venerable saṃgha listen! This bhikṣu named so-and-so now requests from the assembly of the saṃgha permission to confer the upasampadā upon people; the saṃgha now grants the bhikṣu named so-and-so permission to confer the upasampadā upon people. Whichever elders approve of the saṃgha granting the bhikṣu named so-and-so permission to confer the upasampadā upon people, remain silent; whoever does not approve, speak! The saṃgha has already approved allowing the bhikṣu named so-and-so to confer the upasampadā upon people. Because the saṃgha approves and is silent, thus do we hold this matter." (For a niśrayācārya, the procedure is also the same as this.)
