大姊一心念！此是我長衣未作淨，為淨故施與大姊，為展轉淨故。（彼受淨者應云：）大姊！汝有此長衣未作淨，為淨故與我，我今受之。（受已，語言：）汝施與誰？（彼應答言：）施與某甲。（受淨者言：）大姊！汝是長衣未作淨，為淨故施與我，我今受之。受已，汝與某甲，是衣某甲己有，汝為某甲善護持，著隨因緣。（展轉淨施，若問、不問，聽隨意著。鉢、藥及十六枚，作法亦同，唯稱事別為異。）

"May the sister pay single-minded attention! This is my extra robe which has not yet been purified. For the sake of purification, I give it to the sister for the purpose of indirect purification." (The recipient of the purification should say:) "Sister! You have this extra robe which has not yet been purified. You gave it to me for the sake of purification; I now accept it." (Having accepted it, she says:) "To whom do you give it?" (The other should answer:) "I give it to so-and-so." (The recipient says:) "Sister! You gave this extra robe which was not yet purified to me for the sake of purification; I have now accepted it. Having accepted it, you gave it to so-and-so; this robe belongs to so-and-so. You must guard and keep it well for so-and-so, and wear it according to circumstances." (With indirect purification by gift, whether one asks or does not ask, she is permitted to wear it as she pleases. For bowls, medicines, and the sixteen utensils, the procedure is also the same, differing only in naming the specific item.)
