2.40

佛言：「彼處若有信樂優婆塞、若守園人，彼應掌錄。若有五眾出家人前來者，應與；若無來者，應送與近處僧伽藍。」

The Buddha said: "If there is a faithful upāsaka or a monastery attendant in that place, they should take custody of and record [the items]. If any ordained persons belonging to the five assemblies arrive first, they should be given [to them]; if none arrive, they should be sent and given to a nearby saṃghārāma."
