出功德衣法（若不出功德衣，作如是意：以久得五事放捨。佛言：「不應作如是意，聽冬四月竟，僧應出功德衣。」應如是作也。）

Procedure for suspending the kaṭhina robe (kaṭhinoddhāra). (If they do not suspend the kaṭhina robe, thinking: 'Because of this, we may long enjoy the five privileges.' The Buddha said: "One should not think thus; it is permitted that when the four months of winter have ended, the saṃgha should suspend the kaṭhina robe." It should be done as follows:)
