Thirty-third: the precept against wrong livelihood and idle reflection. All actions performed are not right action, and thoughts and idle reflections disturb the true Path, hence it was instituted. Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna both prohibit it; the seven assemblies do not fully share it. The narrative of events has three stages: First, marking that one should not have an evil mind, setting aside perceiving opportune capacity; second, listing the matters; third, the general conclusion. Listing the matters is broadly divided into five: First, two matters are different: spectating is prohibited for both monastics and laity. Second, if for one's own entertainment, monastics and laity alike must not perform or listen; if offering to the Three Jewels, it is permitted for both monastics and laity. Third, eight matters of various games that must not be engaged in. Fourth, six matters of divination for profit that must not be practiced. These are prohibited for monastics and laity alike. Fifth, acting as a messenger.
