"Because the body has interstices, they can accommodate each other": this resolves the objection. Fruition is hollow and sparse; the body has interstices, and therefore can accommodate the informative matter of uniform outflow. Thus the Mahāvibhāṣā, fascicle 122, states: "However, informative and non-informative matter arise relying on the body: some rely on one part, as in snapping the fingers, lifting a foot, and so forth, where movement of one part performs wholesome or unwholesome karma; some rely on all parts, as in prostrating before the Buddha, pursuing an enemy, and so forth, where movement of the entire body performs wholesome or unwholesome karma. Herein, according to the number of subtle atoms of the supporting body, informative karma is also like that; as the quantity of informative matter is, non-informative matter is also like that."
