「應言如轉心至為間隔故」者，論主正釋。應言如轉心表成善等性，然非如彼見斷轉心遠因等起。所以者何？修斷轉心近因等起為間隔故，遠望表疎、近望表親故。隨近轉心表成善等，非隨遠轉心表成善等。

"One should say that like the motivating mind... because of the intervention": the author of the treatise directly explains. One should say that informative action becomes wholesome and so forth in accordance with the motivating mind, yet not in accordance with that motivating mind abandoned through seeing which is a remote causal origination. Why is that? Because the intervening proximate causal origination is a motivating mind abandoned through cultivation; viewed remotely it is distant from the informative action, while viewed proximately it is close to the informative action. Informative action becomes wholesome and so forth in accordance with the proximate motivating mind, not in accordance with the remote motivating mind.
