13.77

「頌曰至增非作等故」者，答。於此頌中總有八證，證有無表：一說三色證、二說無漏色證、三說福增長證、四非作成業證、五法處色證、六八道支證、七別解脫證、八戒為堤塘證。前四頌說，後四等收。

"The verse says [...] because of increase, not acting, and so on": this is the reply. In this verse there are eight proofs in total establishing the existence of the uninformative: first, the proof from the statement of three kinds of form; second, the proof from the statement of uncontaminated form; third, the proof from the statement of the increase of merit; fourth, the proof from action not done by oneself constituting karma; fifth, the proof from form belonging to the base of mental phenomena (dharmāyatana); sixth, the proof from the eight path-factors; seventh, the proof from the Prātimokṣa; and eighth, the proof from precepts serving as an embankment. The first four are stated in the verse, and the latter four are included under "and so on."
