「言近住者至盡壽戒住」者，釋近住名。又《正理》云「有說此戒近時而住。」
"The term upavāsa... abiding in life-long precepts" explains the name upavāsa. Furthermore, the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Some say this precept is called abiding close in time (近時而住)."
