"The commentary states ... seed and fruit being inverted": this first explains the second line. Because the seeds differ, the fruits are sweet or bitter. From a sweet seed a sweet fruit is produced, and from a bitter seed a bitter fruit is produced; hence it is said that "seed and fruit are not inverted," not that through the power of the field the seed and fruit become inverted. *Madhūka* is the name of a fruit, shaped like a jujube, its tree resembling the Chinese honey locust. *Nimba* is the size of a chinaberry seed.
