21.52

「所說煩惱至障蘊故唯五」者，此即大文第三明五蓋。蓋五，標名舉數。唯在欲，界分別。次兩句明蓋合，後一句廢立。

"As for the defilements that have been discussed ... because they obstruct the skandhas, there are only five": this is the third major section, explaining the five hindrances (nīvaraṇa). "The hindrances are five" states the name and adduces the number. "Exist only in the desire realm" differentiates their realm. The next two lines clarify the combination of hindrances, and the final line presents the justification for establishing only these.
