「無學修通至利九」者，釋修通無間應八九。無學修通五無間道，現修如學，唯世俗智。未來所修，鈍八、利九，能斷障故不修他心。

"In cultivating supernatural knowledges by an aśaikṣa ... nine for the sharp": this explains that in the ānantarya[-mārga] of cultivating supernatural knowledges [one cultivates] eight or nine according to applicability. In the five ānantarya-mārgas in cultivating supernatural knowledges by an aśaikṣa, the present cultivation is like that of the śaikṣa: exclusively conventional knowledge. As for what is cultivated in the future: eight for the dull and nine for the sharp; because they can sever obstacles, they do not cultivate [the knowledge of] another's mind.
