「修五通時至現未唯俗」者，明異生修五通。修五通時，五加行道，宿住、神境二解脫道現修俗智。他心一解脫道，現修俗、他心。五勝進道，俗、他心二隨應現修。此上未來一切皆修俗、他心二。五無間道，現在、未來唯修俗智。天眼、天耳二解脫道，無記性故，不名為修。

Regarding [the phrase] “When cultivating the five supernormal knowledges, [present and future are only conventional],” this explains an ordinary person cultivating the five supernormal knowledges. When cultivating the five supernormal knowledges: in the five preliminary paths, and in the two liberation paths of past lives and psychic power, one presently cultivates conventional knowledge. In the one liberation path of others' minds, one presently cultivates conventional [knowledge] and [the knowledge of] others' minds. In the five paths of special progress, one presently cultivates the two—conventional and [the knowledge of] others' minds—as appropriate. In all of the above, one cultivates both conventional [knowledge] and [the knowledge of] others' minds in the future. In the five uninterrupted paths, in both present and future one cultivates exclusively conventional knowledge. The two liberation paths of divine eye and divine ear, being of an indeterminate nature, are not designated as cultivation.
