Regarding 'Fifth, the power of knowledge of various inclinations,' knowing the differences in the various inclinations and dispositions of sentient beings is called the power of knowledge of various inclinations (nānādhimukti-jñāna-bala). Inclination (adhimukti) is precisely a mental factor (caitta). Thus the Xianzong says: 'The unimpeded knowledge that knows as it truly is the distinctions in the inclinations of sentient beings is called the power of knowledge of various inclinations, because inclination (āśaya) and resolve (adhimukti) are different names [for the same thing].'
