On the passage beginning with "These five supernormal knowledges" up to "does not depend on preparatory application": This explains the eleventh and twelfth lines, clarifying the two ways of obtaining [them]. As for these five supernormal knowledges: those that have sublime efficacy and sharp intensity and were not previously attained are obtained through preparatory application. Those that were already habituated in past lives and lack sublime efficacy, as well as those in future lives belonging to that non-sublime category, are obtained through detachment from defilement. For followers of the two vehicles and ordinary worldlings, as appropriate, whether obtained through preparatory application or through detachment, when they are brought into actual manifestation, it is always through preparatory application. The Buddha obtains all of them through detachment, and they manifest as he wishes without depending on preparatory application. Furthermore, the Nyāyānusāra states: "Noble ones of the three vehicles and ordinary worldlings in their final existence can obtain both what was previously attained and what was not previously attained; remaining ordinary worldlings only obtain what was previously attained."
