29.73

「論曰至大聖弟子」者，就長行中，一正釋頌本、二傷歎勸學。此即正釋頌本。迦濕彌羅國五百大阿羅漢毘婆沙師，相共相議論阿毘達磨理善成立，我多依彼釋對法宗。於中時以經部義宗少有貶量，為我過失。然亦未敢即為指南，判法正理唯在世尊，及諸如來大聖弟子舍利子等。

"The treatise says: [...] the great disciples of the Great Sage": in the prose, first it directly explains the root verse, and second it expresses lamentation and encourages study. Here it directly explains the root verse. The five hundred great arhat Vaibhāṣikas of the land of Kaśmīra mutually discussed and well established the principles of the Abhidharma; I have mostly relied on them to explain the tenets of Abhidharma. In doing so, occasionally disparaging them slightly according to the tenets of the Sautrāntikas is my own fault. However, I have not dared to treat it as an absolute guide; judging the correct principles of the Dharma rests solely with the World-Honoured One and the great noble disciples of the Tathāgata, such as Śāriputra.
