30.40

「如是義宗至流轉生死」者，論主指同前破，復述正義。如燎原火雖剎那滅，而由前後相續不斷，說有流轉從此至彼。如是蘊聚上假說為有情，愛、取為緣，異熟果起相續不斷，名流轉生死。

Regarding 'Such a tenet [...] transmigration in saṃsāra': the author of the treatise points to the earlier refutation and then states the correct doctrine. Just as a forest fire, though perishing moment by moment, is said to undergo a transition from here to there because its succession is uninterrupted before and after; in the same way, over the aggregation of the skandhas one conventionally designates a sentient being. With craving and clinging as conditions, the fruition of maturation arises in an uninterrupted continuum, which is called transmigration in saṃsāra.
