「由此心有至最隨順故」者，論主答。由此心有住異相故，後漸劣前。此住異相，於上中下別修果類相續生中最隨順故，所以不恒生自勝果，有生劣果。

Regarding "Because this mind has... being most compliant": the author of the treatise answers. Because this mind has the mark of the variation of abiding, what comes later gradually becomes inferior to what came before. Because this mark of the variation of abiding is most compliant with the successive arising of distinct classes of cultivation results—superior, middling, and inferior—it therefore does not constantly produce its own superior results, but also produces inferior results.
