"Pliancy (praśrabdhi) means serviceability of mind": pliancy means being able to make the mind serviceable with respect to what is wholesome. Therefore, the Nyāyānusāra states: "The cause of lightness and comfort of body and mind arising from correct attention—serviceability of mind—is called pliancy." Furthermore, the Abhidharmāvatāra states: "Serviceability of mind is called pliancy. It opposes and harms torpor, and accords with wholesome phenomena."
