9.80

「次第轉增至旋環無始」者，至根熟位復起惑、業，中有相續更趣餘世。如是今身惑、業為因，故後世生。後世生復為因，起於惑、業，從此惑、業更復有生，故知有輪旋環無始。或可如是前身惑、業為因故今世生，今世生復為因起於惑、業，從此惑、業更復有生，故知有輪旋環無始。

"Gradually increasing further […] revolving in a circle without beginning": when reaching the stage of matured faculties, one again gives rise to affliction and karma, and the continuum of intermediate existence again heads toward another world. Thus, this present body's affliction and karma serve as the cause, and therefore subsequent births arise. Subsequent births again serve as causes, giving rise to affliction and karma, and from this affliction and karma there is again further birth; therefore we know the wheel of existence revolves in a circle without beginning. Or it can be said: thus the previous body's affliction and karma served as causes, and therefore this present life arose; this present life again serves as a cause giving rise to affliction and karma, and from this affliction and karma there is again further birth; therefore we know the wheel of existence revolves in a circle without beginning.
