"Cognitive-field resistance ... cognitive-field resistance" refers to the twelve realms: the five sense-faculties, the seven consciousness realms in full, and all dharmas possessing cognitive objects that are associated with a part of the dharma-realm. Because they are restricted by cognitive fields such as visible form, they are named "possessing cognitive-field resistance". The Prajñaptiśāstra is one title among the six pādas [of the Abhidharma], composed by Mahākātyāyana. Citing its two pairs of water-land and day-night can be understood. A piśāca, rendered into the Tang language as "eater of blood and flesh," is another name for a ghost (preta). A śiśumāra is a type of beast (tiryag-yoni), shaped like a gecko; the small ones are twenty feet long, and the large ones reach even a hundred feet.
