論「已說聲處當說味處」，此下第三釋味處也。《正理論》云「味謂所噉，是可甞義。」此中有二：一結引、二舉數列名。此即初也。

[Regarding the] treatise's [statement]: "Having explained the sound-āyatana, we should explain the taste-āyatana": from here down is the third [section], explaining the taste-āyatana. The *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Taste means what is eaten, having the sense of being tastable." Within this there are two [parts]: first, concluding and introducing; second, giving the number and listing the names. This is the first.
