論「已說味處當說香處」，第四釋香處也。《正理論》云「香謂所嗅」。就中有三：一結引、二依《婆沙》十三說香有四、三依本論說香有三種。此即初也。

[Regarding the] treatise's [statement]: "Having explained the taste-āyatana, we should explain the odor-āyatana": the fourth [section] explains the odor-āyatana. The *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Odor means what is smelled." Within this there are three [parts]: first, concluding and introducing; second, stating four odors according to the *Vibhāṣā* (fascicle 13); third, stating three kinds of odor according to the root treatise. This is the first.
