On the passage in the treatise from "Therefore the Buddha said" to "is called the volition-grasping skandha": Citing scriptural teaching as proof. According to what the Buddha said, one therefore knows that it actually encompasses the remaining phenomena. Because the producing meaning of intention is strong, it is called the volition-grasping skandha. The Nyāyānusāra says: "In the sūtras it is said that by completely severing the three fetters one realizes the fruit of stream-entry; it is not that one does not completely sever all defilements to be severed by seeing the truths. One should know that this sūtra is an incomplete statement; sūtras such as this are all spoken according to the most prominent. This is also like that: its function of producing conditioned things is superior. Why is it said that this can produce conditioned things? Because it has the superior capacity to lead to and produce fruit."
