The treatise says: "There is no such fault [...] and are stated distinctively." This is the Sarvāstivādin's defense. There is no such fault of restating the dharmāyatana, because the dharmāyatana has many varieties. There are feeling, craving, and contact, and furthermore there are many other dharmāyatanas such as non-associated formations. When the sūtra states the six external āyatanas, it states the remaining dharmāyatanas. When the sūtra states the six feelings, it states feeling; when the sūtra states the six cravings, it states craving; when the sūtra states the six contacts, it states contact. Therefore, having stated the dharmāyatana, it further states the six feelings, six cravings, and six contacts. In your school, apart from contact there are no distinct three, so how could contact and the three be stated distinctively?
