論「功能定故無不定失」，論主答。麥種於麥芽雖是異類，相望有力，功能定故，不生穀芽。

The treatise says: "Because their capacities are determined, there is no fault of indeterminacy." The Master of the Treatise answers: Although a barley seed and a barley sprout are of different classes, looking to each other there is efficacy; because its capacity is determined, it does not produce grain sprouts.
