論「於勝謂勝名慢過慢」，此慢過於過慢，名慢過慢。舊論云「過過慢」也。

On the Śāstra's words, "Deeming oneself superior to the superior is called overweening arrogance (mānātimāna)": This pride exceeds arrogance, hence it is called overweening arrogance (mānātimāna). The older translation calls it 'excessive arrogance'.
