論「又經中說至有所緣故」，是根、非根門。於中有二：一引經中二十二根、二辨根界攝。此即初也。經中說二十二根，意根於身根後說，依六處次第故。諸大論師命根後說意根，於無緣根後說有緣根故。

On the Śāstra's: "Furthermore, in the sūtra it is said ... because they possess an objective support": This is the topic of faculty and non-faculty. Within this, there are two parts: first, citing the twenty-two faculties in the sūtra; second, distinguishing their subsumption under the elements. This is the first part. The sūtra speaks of the twenty-two faculties, stating the mental faculty after the body faculty in accordance with the sequence of the six āyatanas. The great masters of the treatises state the mental faculty after the life faculty, because they state the faculties possessing an objective support after the faculties without an objective support.
