論「若不爾者至過去豈成」，經部反難有部也。若過去業於今現實有性，過去豈成？應名現在。
The Śāstra says: "If it were not so... how could the past be established?": the Sautrāntikas question the Sarvāstivādins in return. If past karma exists with a substantial nature at present, how could the past be established? It should be called present.
