25.36

論「非此緣無至不如實緣」，答也。身見既依身起，即是以苦諦為境。如不如實知，謂苦法為我。

On the Śāstra's statement: "It is not that this takes non-existence as its object ... not taking it as its object as it truly is": This is the reply. Since the view of individuality arises dependent on the physical person, it takes the truth of suffering as its domain. Just as one does not know it as it truly is, one regards the phenomena of suffering as a self.
