論「若待行別至何用我為」，破轉計也。若待行別，我意合故生識別者，即應心但待行差別能生意識，何用我為？

On the Śāstra's statement: "If it depends on different dispositions (saṃskāra) [...] what is the use of the self?": This refutes their shifted position. If, depending on differences in dispositions, the contact between self and mind produces differentiation in consciousness, then the mind should simply depend on differences in dispositions to be able to produce mental consciousness; what is the use of the self?
