論「有慚非敬至謂緣滅道慚」，此第二師，成兩句也。於忻上境名敬名慚，於厭劣境是慚非敬，故成兩句。

On the Śāstra's [words], "There is respectful shame that is not veneration […] namely respectful shame taking cessation and the path as objects": this second master establishes two alternatives. Toward superior objects that bring joy it is called veneration and called respectful shame; toward inferior objects that bring revulsion it is respectful shame but not veneration; thus two alternatives are established.
