The Śāstra says: "Furthermore, dharmas of a trainee (śaikṣa) […] possession is that of one beyond training (aśaikṣa)." This clarifies the heading of the three kinds of training. Because the dharmas of a trainee and one beyond training are conditioned, the possessions capable of possessing them, following the dharmas possessed, are possessions of a trainee and of one beyond training. Because neither-trainee-nor-non-trainee dharmas encompass the unconditioned, they are possessed by three kinds of possession: conditioned defiled dharmas, as well as non-analytical cessation, are possessed by possessions of neither a trainee nor one beyond training. Analytical cessation is possessed by three kinds of possession: if induced by the path of a trainee, it is of a trainee; if induced by the path of one beyond training, it is of one beyond training; if induced by a defiled path, it is of neither a trainee nor one beyond training.
