8.73

論「若如是者至所隨增故」，引文難也。若趣唯是異熟無記，即合唯是修道煩惱，及是一切遍行隨眠之所隨增。何故《品類足》說一切隨眠所隨增也？故知非唯異熟無記唯修所斷通染污也。

On the Śāstra's statement: "If that is so ... because they grow concurrently": this cites a text to object. If a destiny were exclusively neutral maturation, then it should only be defilements abandoned by the path of cultivation and all universal anuśayas that grow concurrently with it. Why does the *Prakaraṇapāda* say that all anuśayas grow concurrently? Therefore it is known that it is not exclusively neutral maturation abandoned only by cultivation, but also extends to defilements.
