論「如是所釋至聚集豈成」，論主破也。種種聚集於此十二緣起可然。如眼在此，色在遠方，如是亦是緣起，豈是聚集？所以諸釋不同，依聲明一一字皆有十義，取意不同，釋各異也。

The treatise says: "Such an explanation [would only apply to things in the same location; how could gathering together be established for what is far apart]?" The treatise master refutes it. Various things gathering together may be plausible in the twelve links of conditioned origination; however, for instance, the eye is here and the visible form is far away, yet this is also conditioned origination—how could this be a gathering together? The reason the various explanations differ is that according to grammar (śabdavidyā), every single word has ten meanings; because they adopt different intentions, their explanations are each distinct.
