論「若作此釋至通於六識」，若中有識支攝，中有具六識故，即順契經識支通於六識。若依有部，唯一剎那結生名識支，此即唯意識，不攝中有，不通五也。

The treatise says: "If one makes this explanation [then this consciousness link] applies to all six consciousnesses." If intermediate existence is subsumed under the link of consciousness, since intermediate existence possesses all six consciousnesses, this accords with the sūtra that the link of consciousness applies to all six consciousnesses. If according to the Sarvāstivādin (Vaibhāṣika), only the single moment of conception (pratisandhi) is called the consciousness link, this would only be mental consciousness, would not subsume intermediate existence, and would not apply to the [other] five.
