The treatise says, "The correct opinion is [...] because their categories are identical": this sets forth the orthodox position. The Nyāyānusāra states: "The fruits of the saṃvaras are either produced from an intentional good mind or produced from an innate good mind. If produced from an intentional good mind, the saṃvara is relinquished first, and subsequently the good roots are severed. However, regarding the severing of the good roots, both the preparatory stage and the fundamental stage are called severing the good roots; relying on this, it is said that all saṃvaras are relinquished at the point of severing the good roots. If produced from an innate good mind, whenever any grade of root capable of producing it is severed, the saṃvara produced by it is relinquished at that very moment. Because that which can originate them is relinquished, those [saṃvaras] are relinquished accordingly."
